I acknowledge that men may face unique challenges in accessing counselling. Many men may feel that seeking help is a sign of weakness or that it is not "manly" to talk about their emotions. These attitudes can be deeply ingrained and can make it difficult for men to reach out for support.
I understand that seeking counselling can be a difficult decision, and I want to assure you that it is a brave and courageous step. I am here to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, and to support you in finding your own solutions and paths forward. I believe that everyone has the right to feel heard and understood, and I am committed to helping men to find the support and guidance we sometimes need.
As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community , I am committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all individuals, including those who identify as LGBTQIA+. I understand that members of the LGBTQIA+ community may face unique challenges and discrimination, and I am here to provide a supportive and understanding space to explore and process these experiences. Whether you are struggling with issues related to your sexual or gender identity, seeking support for a relationship, or dealing with any other concerns, I am here to listen and to help you find your own path forward. I believe that everyone has the right to live their lives authentically and with dignity, and I am committed to supporting individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community to do just that.
In addition to traditional sessions in the counselling room, I also offer the option of walk & talk therapy. This type of therapy involves meeting outside of the traditional setting and going for a walk together while we talk about the issues that are on your mind. Many people find that being in nature and moving their bodies during therapy can be a soothing and energising experience. Walk & talk therapy can be a great option for those who prefer to be in a more natural setting or who find that the movement helps them to process their thoughts and feelings more effectively. A sturdy pair of walking shoes and a willingness to brave the elements and the mud are a necessity. If you are interested in trying walk & talk therapy, please let me know and we can discuss the details and find a suitable location for our sessions.
